Wrecking a spindle changed my view on CAM checks
I used to trust my code without a sim, but not anymore. Do you run virtual checks before cutting?

Totaled a spindle once myself. Always skipped the simulation step before that. Program had a hidden rapid plunge. Now I verify every tool path visually. No exceptions.

How did you not see the plunge?

But what if checking every path makes you worse at the real job? You stare at that simulation so long your eyes glaze over and miss the tiny bad move anyway. I've seen guys watch the pretty lines but forget to actually check their work offsets. The machine has alarms for a reason, sometimes you gotta trust the process and not just your tired eyes.
