Paid $180 for a bootcamp prep course, worst mistake of my life

Signed up for a 6 week 'crash course' in Python basics last month in Denver because I thought it would give me a head start. All it was, was a guy reading slides and telling us to watch free YouTube videos, I literally learned more in 3 days from a free tutorial. Has anyone else flushed money down the drain on these beginner courses, or am I just the only one who fell for the hype?

Seems like every paid course is just someone selling you free stuff with extra steps these days.
