PSA: Getting called out on bad variable names changed how I code

I used to name everything 'data' or 'stuff' (I know, I know) until a senior dev in our Slack group roasted my code last summer. She said 'if I see one more temp variable I'm going to lose it' and that stuck with me. Has anyone else had a piece of feedback like that totally shift how you write things?

I mean, saying "if I see one more temp variable" is pretty fair honestly. Maybe it's just me though, I still use 'temp' sometimes when I'm just testing something quick.
