Switched from YouTube tutorials to official docs for JavaScript and wow what a difference

I spent 3 weeks banging my head against a wall following some 10-minute tutorial that left out half the steps. Then I just opened Mozilla's JavaScript guide and got my first working program in 2 hours flat. Has anyone else found that skipping the flashy videos and reading the actual docs just clicks better for a beginner like me?

My buddy Tim spent a whole weekend watching a video series on building a website. By Monday he still couldn't make a button change color. Cracked open the official MDN docs and had it working in like 20 minutes. He was so mad he threw his mouse.

Tim probably just learns better with written examples though...
