Warning: my cousin swore I should grind LeetCode for 6 months before touching a real project
My cousin Dave has been a dev for 9 years and he told me in January to grind 300 LeetCode problems before I even try building anything. So I did 200 of them over 4 months and I still couldn't make a simple login page work when I finally sat down to try. Turns out solving array puzzles teaches you almost nothing about how a real app fits together. Has anyone else been given this same advice, and did it actually help you or just eat up months?
Wait, 200 problems over 4 months and you still couldn't build a login page? Bro that is actually insane because that's like 1.5 problems a day, Dave's 300 number would've taken you almost 7 months.
