Unpopular opinion: I quit measuring my coffee and my cups got better
Everyone here says a scale is a must, so I bought a $22 one from Amazon and weighed beans for 6 months straight like it was homework. Then one morning my scale died mid-brew and I just scooped 2 tablespoons like my dad does, and honestly the cup tasted the same. I tried it for a full week at my kitchen in Denver, same beans, same grind, and I could not tell the difference blind. What I learned is my tongue is not a lab, and chasing 15.0 grams exactly was just making me stressed before work. Has anyone else dropped the scale and been happier, or am I just fooling myself here?
