Finally found a way to get my non-reader friend into comics without the usual superhero stuff.

I lent her the first volume of 'Saga' last month, and she texted me yesterday asking where to buy the next one. Anyone have other good entry points for people who think comics are just capes?

Nice! I tried that once and my friend just asked me why the TV was talking to them. For a next step, maybe try "Paper Girls"? It's got that weird sci-fi vibe too.

Know exactly how that feels, trying to get past the cape barrier! Saga is such a perfect pick for that. Paper Girls is a great next idea, it has that same mix of wild story and real heart. I've also had luck with "This One Summer" for friends who want something quieter and more personal. It's so cool when a recommendation actually works out.
