That time an AI mashed up a lawnmower with a hedgehog and I couldn't stop laughing

You ever try to explain one of those to someone who doesn't get it? I showed a buddy a picture of a toaster fused with a snail once and he just stared at me like I'd lost it. Best advice I got was to save the weird ones in a folder on my phone. Then when someone asks what I'm laughing at, I just pull one up and watch them try to process it. Half the time they end up laughing too just from how dumb it looks. The lawnmower hedgehog one sounds like a keeper for sure.

Quick tip for mixing mortar in cold weather

Tbh I read something similar in a cold weather concrete guide from the Alberta government a while back. They said warm water helps but dont go above 40 degrees or you risk flash setting. Sounds like that Beaver Lumber guy knew what he was talking about.

DAE spend six months thinking their telescope was broken before realizing...

Spent three months thinking my collimation was off before I figured out it was just the tube currents from my house. Left the scope in the garage for an hour before a session and suddenly Saturn had rings. Felt like a total moron but hey, we all learn the hard way.

Had to stop at a NAPA in rural Montana to fix a brake line on my F-150

Did the old timer have any trick for getting the double flare to seal right on the first try with just hand tools? I've tried that method before but always ended up with a leaky connection and had to redo it. Did he use some kind of lube or a specific way to hold the tubing steady?

Tried a torque wrench from Snap-on versus the cheap one from the truck sale...

Man I feel this so hard my wallet is still crying. I used one of those no name torque wrenches from the parts store for years thinking I was a pro. Then I did the head gasket on my buddy's old 350 and found out my "60 ft-lbs" was actually like 73 on two bolts same spot. Felt like a total idiot when the Snap-on guy at the shop laughed at me and showed me the difference. Now I just pretend the cheap one is a really expensive breaker bar and keep it in the dark corner of my toolbox where it can't hurt anyone else.
