A comment on my hiking video told me my pack was riding too low
Some random person said my hip belt was sitting an inch below my iliac crest and after adjusting it I stopped getting those shoulder pains after 5 miles. Has anyone else gotten game-changing tips from total strangers in comments?

My buddy ignored a comment about her knee pain being from her boots being too stiff, finally tried different ones six months later and it was a total game changer. She's still mad about all the hikes she suffered through before.

My friend Jess had the exact same issue with her Salmon hiking boots (you know, the expensive ones everyone swears by). She spent eight months blaming her bad form and even went to a physio before someone finally convinced her to try a different brand. Ended up getting a pair of Keens with way more flex and her knee pain vanished within two weeks (she's still bitter about all those wasted months of hobbling up trails).

Actually it's more like 7 months, not 6. I remember because she posted about it in early March and then finally got new boots right before October. But the bigger issue is stiff boots aren't always the problem. Sometimes it's the sole being too flexible or the arch support being wrong. I had the same thing happen to me with a pair of Asolos. Everyone told me to break them in more but it was the stiffness that was killing my knees. Ended up switching to a brand with more cushion and lower drop. Took me a year to figure it out though so I feel her pain.
