I used to think comment sections were just for trolls until a post about a lost dog changed my mind
Last week, I saw a local news post on Facebook about a missing golden retriever in Springfield. The top comment was from a guy who said, 'Check the old mill on 5th, my cat got stuck in the pipes there once.' Someone actually did, and they found the dog there an hour later. The whole thread turned into people sharing safe spots for lost pets around town. It wasn't just jokes or arguing for once. It was a real community helping out. Has anyone else seen a comment section actually solve a problem like that?

My town's library page had a thread last year where people listed every public water fountain that still worked. It started with one comment about a broken fountain at the park. That list got printed out and stuck on the community board for joggers and dog walkers. Sometimes those random tips become a shared resource everyone uses.

Honestly @max_ross, that reminds me of when our neighborhood map for the best Halloween candy got passed around for years.

Our town's Facebook group has a pinned post for potholes.
