Finally got a stubborn 2015 MacBook Air to boot after a hail mary with a heat gun

I was about to call it a dead logic board, but a gentle 30-second pass over the SMC area brought it back to life. Has anyone else had luck with this method, or did I just get stupid lucky?

Wait you used a heat gun on a computer and it actually worked? That sounds like something from a mad science experiment, not actual tech repair. I've heard of people using ovens for graphics cards but that always seemed like a last resort before the trash. A gentle pass is the key detail though, I guess you didn't just melt the whole thing into a puddle. Honestly that's wild luck, I would have been too scared to even try it.
