I finally stopped using canned air on every single dusty PC

Was cleaning a customer's old gaming rig from 2018 and the dust was packed in so tight the air just moved it around. My buddy in the shop saw me and said 'dude, you need a brush first, then the air'. How do you guys handle a really caked-on dust situation without just blasting it everywhere?

Your buddy's "brush first" advice is basically the PC cleaning version of "measure twice, cut once" (and just as ignored).

Exactly! And skipping it means you just blow all that dust deeper into the heatsinks. I learned that the hard way when my temps actually got worse after a "quick" clean. Now I spend a solid minute brushing the loose stuff off the fans and vents before the air duster even comes out.
