PSA: I just finished a 4,000 square foot slab in one day with a crew of three, which I thought was impossible for a broom finish.

We started at 4 AM, used a ride-on trowel for the first time, and the key was having one guy just handle the edges and corners with a magnesium float while the other two stayed on the machine, so if anyone has a better system for big pours I'd love to hear it.

Man, my buddy tried that once and his ride-on sank into the mud. Total disaster.

Ouch, that sounds rough. How deep did his machine end up sinking?

Starting that early is smart to beat the heat. Did you do anything special with the subgrade prep to avoid the sinking issue @riveradams mentioned? A ride-on needs a really solid base. Also, what mix design were you running to get it to set up fast enough for a one-day finish?
