Rant: I counted 11 cameras on one light pole in downtown Nashville and nobody at the courthouse could tell me who owns them
I was down in Nashville two weeks ago for my cousin's wedding and we walked past the courthouse on James Robertson Parkway around 9pm. One single light pole had 11 cameras on it, all pointed different directions, plus what looked like a little wifi antenna box bolted to the bottom. I took a pic and zoomed in later and there's no city logo, no police sticker, nothing, just plain gray housings. So the next morning I went inside and asked the front desk lady who runs them and she said she had no clue, told me to call public works. Public works transferred me twice and then hung up on me. I get that cameras everywhere is just normal now but 11 on one pole feels like way more than traffic or safety needs, that's basically a full ring around the block from one spot. Has anybody else actually gotten a straight answer from a city about who owns these unmarked poles, or is this just how it is everywhere now?
