My Procore project schedule got nuked when a sub accidentally deleted all my milestones

Last Tuesday I had 47 milestones set up for a 14 month school build in Austin, and one of my superintendents synced his phone wrong and wiped everything. Had to spend 3 hours on hold with support trying to recover the backup. Has anyone else had a sub or coworker mess up their data in a way that took forever to fix?

...and the worst part is, my buddy had almost the exact same thing happen last year on a hospital job in Dallas. He had all his RFIs and submittals linked to his milestones, and when the backup came back it was like three weeks old. He said it took him and his assistant a whole weekend to piece everything back together from emails and old printouts. I mean, Procore's cloud backup is supposed to be reliable but that kind of thing makes you wonder. Idk, maybe it's just me but it feels like software updates cause more problems than they fix sometimes.

Updates usually have release notes for a reason. You can read them before clicking install. I've been on Procore for six years across three different GCs and never lost a days worth of data. The Dallas thing sounds like a one-off server issue or maybe they didn't have good local backups running alongside the cloud. Cloud backup is only as good as the last verified sync. I always keep a weekly export of my project data on a portable drive just in case. That weekend of rework probably could have been avoided with a simple hard copy log.
