That walkthrough in Austin with the punch list on paper towels

Tbh I still think about this one inspector from last spring. We were doing a final walkthrough on a 14 unit remodel and my PM pulled up the software on his tablet showing all the completed items. The inspector just stood there, looked at him, and said "Show me the paper towel list." Turned out he kept his own punch list on a few napkins from the truck, and he found 3 things our software missed because the sub marked them done but never actually finished. I asked him why he doesnt use an app and he said "Apps tell me what you want me to see. Paper towels tell me what I actually saw." That stuck with me. Now I do a quick physical sweep before marking anything complete in the system, even if the field crews logged it. Has anyone else run into guys who just refuse to trust digital checks?
