3 boxes of Clairol from CVS and you'd think they all tried to strip black box dye with bleach at home. The worst one had that weird greenish tint when the light hit it.

What color were you originally trying to get? I had a friend who used their medium brown shade and ended up with that exact greenish tint you're talking about, looked like pond scum in direct sunlight. Did you check the numbers on the boxes to make sure they were all the same batch? I've noticed CVS sometimes mixes old stock with new and that can cause weird reactions. Were you going for a warm tone or something more neutral?

Ugh, green tint is the worst. It reminds me of the time I tried to dye my own hair a chestnut brown back in '09 and ended up looking like I'd been swimming in a pool with too much chlorine for a week straight. I had to wear a hat to work for two months until my stylist could figure out how to fix it. It was during a hot summer too, so my scalp was constantly sweating under that hat. I still get a little nervous whenever I see a box of hair color on a store shelf.
