Mixing bowl disinfection habit I picked up after a bridal party in Austin
Last month I did updos for six bridesmaids at a hotel near the capitol. Their shared brush set had product buildup I didn't notice until midway through. Since then I scrub every bowl and comb with Barbicide between every single client. Takes a couple minutes extra but my station smells better and clients seem to trust the process more. Anyone else find a new routine after one rough job?

Quit doing that before you wreck your gear. Barbicide eats away at certain finishes and cheap metal coatings if you soak them every single day, and those bowls you're scrubbing probably have a protective layer that gets dull and rough over time. I tested this myself after a bad lice scare years ago, hospital grade disinfectant ruined two good mixing bowls within a month. You're better off wiping with alcohol between clients and saving the deep soak for the end of the day, that keeps things clean without stripping your tools down to bare plastic.
