My instructor said to never use a razor on dry hair, but a client insisted.
She came in last month wanting a drastic texturizing cut on her thick, coarse hair and refused a wet section. I did it dry like she asked, and the result was so choppy and uneven it took me an extra 45 minutes to fix. Has anyone else had a client push back on a basic technique and then regretted it?

Consider adding a dry-cut waiver to your booking policy now.

What is it with clients thinking they know our tools better than we do? I had a guy once swear he could give himself a fade with kitchen shears because he saw it on a sketchy youtube short. He came in looking like a lawnmower ran over his head and was shocked it didn't work. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Ugh, that's the worst. I've started just showing them a picture of what dry texturizing does on coarse hair, it usually changes their mind. Did she at least tip you for the extra time?
