A veteran operator in Cleveland told me my two-blocking was 'sloppy as hell' and costing me minutes on every lift, so I started using a piece of colored tape on the hoist line as a visual marker.

Has anyone else found a simple trick like that to smooth out a basic move you thought you had down?

Oh man, that's a great idea. I always figured feeling the cable was good enough, you know? But then I saw a guy using a bright zip tie as a marker on his rigging, and it clicked. Watching that little flash of color go by made everything so much smoother, no more second guessing. Totally changed how I set up now.

Ever wonder if that trick messes with the cable's balance at all?

My mom puts a rubber band on the gas can so she remembers to fill it.
