Guy at the yard counter made me rethink my whole rigging setup

Stopped by the supply house in Tulsa to grab some spare chokers and this old timer behind the counter asks what I'm running. I told him my usual spreader bar setup and he just goes 'you ever try a basket hitch on that offset pick?' I kinda laughed it off but then he drew it out on a napkin and showed me where my tag line geometry was fighting the load. Tried it on a steel beam job the next day and the lift felt way more stable. Took me 8 years on the seat to hear that from a guy who's probably never swung a hook. Anyone else pick up a better method from someone outside the cab?

Napkin diagram beat 8 years of seat time? Damn, that stings.
