Spent $180 on a load cell for my crane and it paid for itself in one job

Picked up a used load cell off a retiring operator in Tulsa last month and it caught a 2 ton overload on a steel beam lift that would have bent my boom, has anyone else had a cheap tool save their whole rig?

Funny how the cheap stuff often ends up being the real life saver.

What makes you say that though? Got a specific story of a cheap thing that actually saved the day?

Oh man I used to be such a snob about cheap stuff. I thought you had to spend money to get something that actually worked. But then my super cheap plastic travel umbrella totally saved me during a freak storm last year, held up better than my friend's fancy one that broke in like five minutes. Really changed how I look at things honestly.
