Pro tip: sometimes the hardest part of a magic system is naming the dumb spells
Spent three hours last week trying to name a simple fire spell for my fantasy world. Ended up calling it "Candle Flicker" because everything I thought of sounded like a video game powerup. The actual problem was I kept overthinking it instead of just picking something and moving on. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on a tiny detail like that?

Naming magic is basically naming band names for D&D nerds. Candle Flicker actually sounds cool because it tells you exactly what it does without being tryhard.

Nah, simple names just make magic feel boring and forgettable.
