Warning: My junk drawer sort-out gave me five solid story starts
I was just clearing clutter, but every odd thing I pulled out suggested a character or scene. Now the drawer shuts smoothly and my idea list is growing.

Man, that's the best kind of cleanup. It's like each weird button or old key isn't just a character idea, it's a whole hidden world. You start wondering how it got there, who lost it, what it opened or held together. That smooth shut drawer means you traded clutter for fuel, and that's a solid win.

But let's be real, most of that stuff is just trash waiting to be thrown out. Who has time to dream up stories for every broken key or rusty button? You'll never find out where they came from anyway. That drawer shuts smooth now because you got rid of things you don't need, not because you found some magic fuel. Isn't it better to just move on instead of holding onto every little thing?

Disagree hard on this one. That "trash" holds way more than dust, it's like keeping a box of story starters. Joseph_torres gets it, that weird button could be the reason a character wears gloves or has a secret past. Throwing it all out just feels like deleting pages from a book you haven't read yet.
