DAE catch a creator at a Denver meetup admit 80% of their 'day in the life' shots get faked?
He said they park a second car at the trailhead just for the thumbnail, and I can't stop noticing how staged everything looks now. Anyone else hear a confession like that and feel weird about the stuff you used to trust?
I've been shooting with a Canon R6 for two years and the trailhead thing is real. Saw a guy at Bear Creek last summer with a coffee cup and laptop on a folding table like he was working remote, then he packed it all into a Pelican case and drove off in a different truck than the one in the shot. My rule now is to check if the gear in the video matches what they actually use in unedited clips. If someone shows a $3k lens in the vlog but every sit down shot is a kit lens, the whole thing is probably a set. Skip the "day in the life" stuff and just watch their build videos or raw clips, those are way harder to fake.
