Honestly, I was stuck at 200 views per video for months until I tried this one thing

Ngl, my travel vlogs were going nowhere, and I was about to quit. Tbh, the problem was my first 30 seconds were just boring scenery shots. So I started putting my best clip, like a crazy scooter crash in Bangkok, right at the start, even if it happened later in the day. My views jumped to over 2k on the next upload. It felt like cheating, but it just works to grab people. Has anyone else found a simple edit trick that actually got people to watch?

Wait, you edit that clip in or just use it raw? I've been cutting out my voice saying "um" between sentences and it's crazy how much faster the pacing feels.

But have you ever thought that all that cutting makes things sound fake? I watched a podcast where they edited out every single pause and it felt like being yelled at by a robot. Sometimes an "um" is just a person thinking in real time. It can make a speaker feel more honest and less like a polished ad. I'd rather hear a real person with a few stumbles than something that sounds like a script read by a machine.

Yeah, cutting out those filler words makes a huge difference. @the_sandra is right about the pacing, it's like night and day. Once you start editing them out, you can't help but notice them everywhere in other people's stuff too. It's a simple fix but it makes you sound way more sure of what you're saying. Honestly, it's the first editing step that makes any recording sound professional.
