My "friend" the 10k subscriber guru told me to quit my day job
Guy from a Discord server with 10k subscribers kept saying I'd never grow unless I went full time and posted 3 videos a day. I quit my job 6 months ago and now I'm at 800 subscribers and ran through my savings. Has anyone else had to crawl back to their old job after following bad advice like this?

That guy wants to "tell him" 10k isn't guru status but you're the one with 800 subs after quitting your job, so maybe listen to the guy with actual results. The guru gave you a hard truth that most creators can't handle: treating YouTube like a hobby while working a 9-to-5 is exactly why you stay small. Respect the hustle of crawling back, but you didn't fail because of bad advice, you failed because you weren't ready to actually go all in.
