MySpace angle pics from 2006 got 47 comments and I still think that was a better feed than today
I dug up my old Photobucket album from junior year of high school in Dayton and counted 47 comments on one mirror selfie taken in a bathroom with the flash on. Everyone says the old internet was full of cringe, but those 47 people actually talked to each other instead of leaving a fire emoji and scrolling on. Does anyone else miss when a bad photo got real replies instead of just silent likes?
47 comments is wild. I had a buddy named Reggie who posted a pic of his foot in a sock on MySpace in like 2007 and got 30 comments, half of them just people arguing about whether socks with sandals were ok. That whole thread turned into a full on debate about fashion and nobody even mentioned the foot pic after a while. The comments sections back then felt like a real hangout spot, like everyone was just sitting around talking junk. Now a photo can get 500 likes and nobody says a single word to each other.
