That 2009 mySpace angle shot still haunts my profile pic choices
I was at a house party in Austin back in 2011 and someone snapped a pic of me doing the duck face with a flash so bright my eyes looked like two glowing coins. Now I scroll back and laugh at how serious I took it, but part of me wonders if the awkward angle era was actually more fun than the perfect selfies we post now. Which side are you on, cringe or classic?

...and honestly the cringe was half the fun. We were all just winging it with bad lighting and weird poses, nobody knew what they were doing. Now every pic is so staged and filtered it feels fake, like we are all just copying the same pose. The awkward angles had character, they showed real people not just perfect faces. I miss the chaos of not knowing if a pic would come out good till the next day. Yeah my 2009 pics are terrible but at least they were real.
