My $700 mistake on a custom countertop template

Paid a guy $700 to template my kitchen island quartz slab and he showed up with a different template than my actual layout. Now I'm stuck with a slab that's 3 inches too short and the fabricator won't refund me. Anyone else get burned by trusting a templater without double-checking their measurements first?

Gotta disagree with you there @christopher_wells4. $700 is cheap for learning that lesson the hard way - I've seen guys drop way more on the same mistake and still not learn. Sounds like you got off easy honestly.
