My foundation pour went sideways when the concrete truck showed up late

I was building a small custom house outside Austin. Concrete truck was supposed to arrive at 7 AM. Showed up at 10:30 after a breakdown on the highway. The crew was standing around for 3 hours burning time I couldn't bill. Ended up pouring in the afternoon heat and the concrete set way too fast. Had to call a finisher friend to help patch the surface before it cracked. Anyone else deal with a late delivery that messed up your schedule?

Always seems like one late domino knocks over the rest of the day. Reminds me how the whole system is only as strong as the weakest link in the chain.

Yeah that's a solid way to put it @perry.evan. I've learned the hard way that if one thing slips in the morning, the whole day just kind of unravels. What helped me was building in a little buffer time between tasks, like an extra 15 minutes here and there. That way if something runs late, it doesn't crash everything else. Also started checking my schedule first thing instead of jumping into emails, because that one change stopped a lot of those chain reactions. Maybe it's simple stuff but it really does cut down on those domino moments.
