Threw some leftover french fries back in the fryer for a second time and they turned into charcoal pucks in about 45 seconds

I swear I just blinked and the kitchen filled with smoke, the dog ran out of the room, and now I have to explain to my wife why the fire alarm went off at 11pm on a Tuesday.

Maybe don't re-fry anything at 11pm is my first thought. The smoke alarm and angry wife combo is a classic I've been there. Those leftover fries are better off just getting thrown out honestly. Next time just microwave them for like 10 seconds and call it a day.
