A guy at the fuel stop in Bakersfield said something about saving deleted posts that stuck with me
He was scrolling through some old Twitter drama on his phone, and he told me he saves screenshots of anything he thinks might get scrubbed later. Said he's got a folder from 2019 with receipts from a local city council meltdown that no one can find anymore. How do you decide what's worth grabbing before it vanishes?

His folder from 2019 with the city council stuff, thats exactly the kind of thing people forget about until its too late. I started doing the same thing after a friend of mine had a local news article about her neighborhood association fight disappear from every archive site she tried. Do you go with a gut feeling or do you take a screenshot of anything that even slightly smells like it might be controversial later? Because I feel like the stuff that actually matters is never the big explosive drama, its the boring records that prove who said what in a committee meeting.

I get what you're saying @jana119 but I kind of lean the other way on this one. Most of the boring committee stuff is still sitting on some government server somewhere, the real problem is when the actual explosive stuff gets memory-holed before anyone thinks to save it. I'd rather grab the thing that makes people mad first, then go back for the paperwork later if I have to.
