Just wasted $80 on a 'viral' deleted recipe that turned out to be a lie

Saw this big deleted post from a food influencer promising a '5 minute microwave lava cake' that supposedly went viral before she took it down. I rushed to try it, spent $12 on ingredients I didn't have (like dark cocoa powder), and it came out as a gooey mess that tasted like burnt rubber. Turns out another user dug up the original screenshot and the recipe was actually a 45 minute oven bake that she edited to look faster. Has anyone else fallen for those deleted 'hack' posts that were too good to be true?

Is it possible she deleted it to avoid a lawsuit from the actual chef who invented it?

Honestly, I used to think she just got bored or wanted to rebrand, but this whole lawsuit angle makes way too much sense. I remember when she first posted that recipe video, it got huge, like millions of views, and then poof, gone within a week. The timing was weird, but I figured it was some kind of behind the scenes drama with her manager. Now that you mention the chef thing though, that specific dish had a really unique plating technique, not something you see everyday. If that chef could prove they showed her on a show or something, that's a pretty open and shut case. So yeah, I'm with you now, there's no way she'd just delete her most watched content without a really good reason.
