That deleted Subway sandwich review post made me rethink customer complaints

Last month someone posted a screenshot of a 1-star Subway review in Denver that got deleted by the mods, but the original poster was saying the store put 3 slices of turkey on a footlong and called it a day. The comment section split hard, half saying the customer was being cheap for expecting more, half saying the store was robbing people at $12.99. I've been in food service before and I see both sides, but what bugs me is how fast the original post vanished before anyone could fact check the receipt photo. Does deleting drama like that protect the business, or does it just make people trust the story more?

And the real issue is nobody's talking about what the receipt actually proves. A photo of a receipt just shows you paid, it doesn't show you the sandwich before you bit into it. Anyone who's worked a register knows you can ring up a footlong and then make it poorly. The store could've put three slices on there and the receipt would look exactly the same as if they put a pound of turkey. So the mods deleting that post actually did everyone a disservice because now there's no way to check the claim against anything. You're just left with two stories, the customer's word and the store's word, and the one with the power to show evidence is the one that hit delete. That's backwards from how accountability is supposed to work.
