inOld machinist told me to run my toolpaths backwards on a tricky part
That part about running less coolant on 316L is wild to me because I've always been told drown it or the work hardening will eat your tool. Did you have to mess with speeds or feeds to make that work, or did the reduced coolant alone fix the stringy chip problem? Because I tried that on a 304 job once years ago but I think I was running too fast for the tool to handle the heat without the flood. I'm curious if the key was also slowing the RPM way down so the heat had somewhere to go, or if just cutting the coolant flow was enough to change the chip formation on its own.

inRemember when comic shops had those longboxes full of quarter books you could dig through for hours?
Are you kidding me @samjohnson? I actually think it's better now. Yeah you can't just grab a vintage guitar for five bucks anymore, but I remember all the wasted gas driving to five different spots hoping to find something decent. Now I can look up exactly what a certain old Craftsman tool is worth before I drive across town for it. The "thrill of the hunt" was mostly just disappointment and junk nobody wanted anyway, at least for me.

inStop recommending glycolic acid peels for every acne client - you're doing more harm than good
Are you finding that most people coming in with barrier damage were only given peels with zero home care guidance? I've had a handful of similar cases myself working in a busy clinic, and honestly @ellis.mia is onto something about the training gap. The worst one for me was a college kid whose esthetician told her to just use a basic cleanser and nothing else after the peel. What finally helped us break that cycle was switching to a super gentle routine with a simple oat-based cleanser and a thick zinc cream at night. It took a solid two months of patience and no active ingredients at all before we could even think about treating the breakouts again.

inWhy does everyone act like a perfectly level mortar joint matters more than actual adhesion?
