Warning: I used to think the 3D warehouse was just for goofy models, but a contractor in Phoenix showed me his whole kitchen remodel workflow with it.

Yeah, it's a game changer for client talks. I pulled up a model of a standard cabinet set, dropped it into the client's room scan, and they got it instantly. Saved me from having to explain spacing and clearances with just a 2D drawing. That visual proof stops a lot of arguments before they even start.

Always thought shellac was too soft for a table, but a job in Savannah proved me wrong.

Was that a fresh shellac job or had it fully cured? The film gets way harder after a few weeks, which might explain why it held up so well. Old-school varnishes can be surprisingly tough too once they've had time to really set.

Appreciation post: I thought Japanese hole punching jigs were just a fad until I made a 400-page text block in one go.

Used to agree with you completely. Picked up one of those jigs on a whim for a single project, a photo album for my sister's wedding. The difference in how clean the final thing looked was actually shocking. Turns out I'm binding more stuff now because it doesn't look homemade in a bad way. That $35 stung at first, but it got me to make nicer things more often.

Serious question, is everyone just using peel and stick backsplash now?

Wow, @margaret_gonzalez25, three years? What brand was that?

Just spent $300 on an AI tool that writes my monthly reports

So what's actually broken about the process? If the system is that unreliable, it sounds like the whole setup needs a reset.
