Found an alternate ending for The Descent on YouTube that completely changes the movie
I always thought the US ending where Sarah escapes was fine until I saw the original UK ending on a deleted scenes channel. In it she never actually gets out of the cave, it cuts back to her hallucinating in the cave while still trapped with the crawlers. Found it late last night and it made the whole movie way darker and better. Anyone else seen which version they liked more?

US ending works better. Happy escape sells the psychological horror more.

Right, because nothing says "terrifying" like a happy family driving away.

Gonna push back here and say the US ending undercuts the whole thing. A happy family driving off just wraps things up neatly, but the real horror is the unease that sticks with you after, not a clean escape. @the_eric it’s the discomfort of the unknown that makes the original hit harder, not a satisfied sigh of relief.
