That 'deleted scene' of Blade Runner 2049 actually fixed a plot hole I didn't notice

I always brushed off extended cuts as studio fluff. But then last weekend a buddy showed me the scene where Wallace's replicant whispers about the memory encryption key. It explains exactly why K's baseline test was unstable. Anyone else find a deleted scene that made the movie click better?

Right? That scene totally changed how I saw the whole movie. I had the same thing happen with Extras from The Lord of the Rings. There's a cut scene in Fellowship where Aragorn gives Boromir this little pep talk before they leave Rivendell. It makes Boromir's whole arc so much more tragic because you see he actually had hope at first. Before that I thought he was just a jerk from the start.

@grace_bailey same here, I always thought Boromir was just a weak link until I saw that scene. Guess that's why I'm not a director, I miss all the good stuff.
