Spent $60 on a drawing tablet stand and it completely changed how my wrist feels after 4 hours of digital painting

I was using a cheap laptop riser before and my hand kept cramping up around the 2 hour mark, but the angled stand lets me rest my whole arm on the desk now. Has anyone else found a specific setup that fixes their posture while working?

Spend the money right the first time or keep dealing with the pain.

Have you ever tried switching your mouse hand to your non-dominant side for a few weeks? I did that after my carpal tunnel got bad, and it forced me to completely change my arm position on the desk. The big thing nobody talks about is how your shoulder alignment changes when you start using a tilted surface. Your whole upper body has to relearn how to sit, not just your wrist. It takes some getting used to but it helped me way more than any stand did.

My buddy works from home doing graphic design and he was complaining about wrist pain for months. He tried one of those gel wrist rests and it did nothing. Then his girlfriend brought home one of those slanted drawing desk things from a yard sale for like five bucks. He said the first day using it his wrist felt totally normal after an eight hour shift. Now he wont stop talking about how stupid he feels for spending years hunched over a flat desk. Says he should have just stolen one from an art classroom in high school and saved himself the trouble.
