Hot take: I thought Playa del Carmen was just a party spot until I saw the remote work scene at Ah Cacao.

After a month here, I'm convinced the cafe's wifi and power setup is better than my old office back home, so where else has surprised you with legit work infrastructure?

That cafe scene is everywhere now. Even my small hometown library got a full tech upgrade with fiber internet and soundproof booths. The real infrastructure is just public spaces catching up to how people actually need to work.

Yeah but that's still not most places. My local library still has computers from like 2005.

Hold up, that's a huge stretch. A few nice cafes or a single library getting an upgrade doesn't mean the infrastructure is actually there. Most public spots still have terrible wifi, no outlets, and zero quiet space. What you're calling catching up is just a few lucky exceptions, not the rule.
