That $300 portable monitor saved my back in Bangkok

I was hauling my 27 inch monitor between hostels and coworking spots for a month in Bangkok, and my shoulders were wrecked. Finally dropped $300 on a 15.6 inch USB-C portable screen from a shop near Siam Square, and it's been a total game changer. Anyone else ditched their big setup for something lighter, or do you think the screen real estate is worth the pain?

Counter that with my last trip to Chiang Mai. I tried the same thing, 14 inch portable, and spent every evening squinting at spreadsheets and video timelines. The screen real estate was brutal for actual work. You traded shoulder pain for eye strain and neck craning, which is worse in the long run. Plus, that 300 bucks could have bought a decent backpack with proper straps. A good bag distributes weight way better than a flimsy laptop sleeve setup. I ended up buying a second cheap monitor there and just leaving it at my favorite coworking spot, they let me store it. Cost me 80 bucks total for the same result without wrecking my posture.
