Found out my paint sprayer was wasting half the paint

I was cleaning my Wagner sprayer the other day and noticed the cup had a ton of paint left in it. Looked it up online and found out I was losing almost 40% of each quart because I wasn't using a liner bag system. Bought a pack of 10 liners for $12 at Home Depot and now I barely waste anything. Has anyone else had that rude surprise with their sprayer?

Get yourself some of those liner bags. Honestly I had the exact same thing happen with my first sprayer. I was blowing through paint way too fast and thought the gun was just super inefficient. Then a buddy at the paint store told me about liners and it was a game changer. You gotta make sure you get the right size for your cup though, not all liners are the same. And clean the cup rim really good before you put a new one in or the bag wont seal right and you'll still get some waste.

Funny how that goes isn't it, you think you're doing everything right then you find out something so simple could save you all that paint and money. It's like how I used to squeeze my toothpaste tube from the middle for years until someone told me to roll it from the bottom, such a tiny change but it makes a big difference over time. Same with the liners, once you know you wonder why you didn't do it from day one. Now I'm always looking for those little tweaks in other things too, like using a funnel to pour oil into my car so I don't drip all over the driveway.
