Plot twist: my layer heights got jacked by a loose set screw
I was running a prototype for a custom bracket last Tuesday at my desk in the shop. About 4 hours in, the layers started shifting like 2mm to the left every 10 rows or so. Tore my hair out checking the gcode, the bed level, even blamed the humidity. Finally noticed the pulley on my Z-axis motor had a tiny set screw that worked itself loose. Just cranked it back with a 2mm hex and it ran perfect after that. Anyone else had a machine goof on them from something super stupid like a loose screw?
