Caught an influencer copying lowkey soundbites from a 2021 podcast

Was scrolling through TikTok last night and saw this girl I follow dropping these heavy life advice lines. Something felt off so I searched one of her quotes in quotes on Google. Turned out she was basically reading transcripts from a therapy podcast episode that only got like 2k listens back in 2021. Nobody in her comments clocked it at all. Has anyone else caught someone stealing old obscure content and passing it off as original wisdom?

Man that grinds my gears. It's like fast fashion for thoughts you know? People just rip stuff wholesale and repackage it for the algorithm. I see it everywhere now not just influencers. Coworkers do it too repeating something they heard on a podcast like it's their own deep insight. Pretty soon nobody will know who actually came up with anything.

@blake691 I get why it bugs you but come on people have been borrowing ideas since forever. My grandma used to repeat stuff from Dr. Phil like it was her own wisdom and nobody cared. Is it really that big of a deal if some girl on TikTok repeats a therapy podcast? If the original creator wanted credit they should have made it catchier or put it on a bigger platform. Soundbites get recycled constantly even in normal conversation nobody owns a thought.
