Hit 30 million yards moved on my cutter suction dredge this morning

Tbh I didn't even realize I was that close to the mark until I checked the logs during shift change. Has anyone else hit a round number that surprised you like that?

30 million yards on a cutter suction..." that's a wild amount of material moved. Did you hit any major snags or surprise rock pockets along the way?

@the_nina that's a Serious amount of yardage. I've been on jobs where we hit surprise rock pockets and it'll stop your day cold. You gotta keep a spare set of cutter teeth on deck and watch your intake gauge like a hawk. If the vibration changes even a little, back off and check the cutterhead before you chew up your pump. Trust me, a few minutes checking beats a day of downtime rebuilding the suction line.
