That one comment about my swing radius changed my whole setup
A old timer from the Gulfport job told me I was swinging too wide on the spoil side, wasting fuel and beating up the hydraulics. He said run the swing at 70% and cut my arc down, so I tried it for a week and my cycle time dropped from 4.2 minutes to 3.6. Now I check my swing arc every morning before I start, and I swear the machine runs smoother. Anyone else get a random piece of advice that just clicked after years of doing it the hard way?

Stepping back from the machine, that advice is the same thing I see with my wife's cooking. She used to stir everything on high heat for ten minutes. Her mom told her to cut the burner back and give the pan a rest. Now the food tastes better and the cleanup is way easier. It's funny how doing less, being intentional about the small parts, usually beats raw effort. Makes me wonder what other habits I got are just me swinging too wide.
