Vent: That 'quick' drywall patch took me 4 weekends
I had a fist-sized hole in my basement ceiling from a plumbing fix. Thought it would be a one-afternoon job tops. Ended up re-mudding and sanding three times because Edmonton winters made the compound crack. Anyone else battle temp and humidity in their garage builds?
Disagree a little here actually. I find a space heater makes the mud crack worse in my place, because it dries the edges way too fast while the middle stays wet. I get better results by covering the mud with a damp towel overnight in between coats, keeps everything from shrinking and splitting. Calgary's dry air is definitely a beast though, maybe I just have a weird setup in my basement.
