Shoutout to the booth guy who told me why attendees bounce
I was talking to this old timer at a trade show in Chicago last month, guy who runs like 30 booths a year. He said most marketers focus on the flashy stuff but forget the basics - like having a clear path to sit down. He showed me his setup with a 5 foot gap and a sign that said 'rest your feet, hear our pitch.' His conversion rate was 40% higher than the average booth there. Made me rethink how I layout my own space. Has anyone else tried a super simple approach like that and seen it work?

Ain't that just making people feel obligated to listen to your pitch though?

Flip it around though - the "obligation" goes both ways. That tired walker is way more likely to actually listen and remember your pitch than someone who just wandered past your flashy banner. I helped a buddy set up a booth at a Texas home show last year, just folding chairs and a cooler of water bottles. People sat down, drank, and actually asked questions about his foundation repair service. He landed 12 leads off that alone, more than the booth next to him with the tablet games.
