Ngl, I paid $60 for a 'meme dictionary' app and I'm still lost on half the stuff my nephew sends me.

Honestly, I thought it would help me get all the new slang and image jokes, but it's already out of date and missed the whole 'skibidi' thing. Has anyone found a better way to actually keep up with this stuff?

Did you try just asking your nephew to explain them? I read that slang moves way too fast for any app to keep up, so learning from the source is better. You might actually bond over it instead of just being confused.

Used to think I needed a translator app for all that new slang... but then my niece said something was "mid" and I just asked what it meant. She lit up explaining it's for stuff that's just okay, not good or bad. Next thing I know she's giving me examples from her favorite shows, and we talked for an hour. Felt way better than staring at some website definition, and now I kinda get it.

Exactly, just ask. I tried looking up "no cap" once and got three different answers. Asked my cousin and he laughed, then showed me a meme that made it click instantly. Now I know it means "for real" and I even used it right last week. Felt like a small win, and he got a kick out of it. Way better than some dry list online.
