Yeah, that "checking on it every week just got sad" feeling is so real. I had a daily driver down for a custom turbo setup (waited forever) and it just becomes a sad garage ornament. Totally get what @emma_wood means about small goals, but man, the wait can kill the vibe.

Months of downtime is no joke. My project car sat for nine months waiting for custom heads, and honestly, checking on it every week just got sad. The excitement really starts to fade when you're just looking at a car on stands forever.
